Broadcasts are scheduled before the reopening to the public, on December 8, of the famous cathedral ravaged by flames in 2019. Among them, Notre-Dame de Paris, the test of the centuries is a docu-fiction in 3D animation which brings the cathedral to life, carried by the voice of the famous actress. This film traces its eventful history through more than eight centuries. Directed by Emmanuel Blanchard, it will be broadcast on the night of December 3 to 4, from midnight, on France 2 and france.tv. This program is part of a special evening, on December 3, from 9:05 p.m., dedicated to “the human adventure and reconstruction” of Notre Dame.
The evening will begin with Our Lady Resurrectiona documentary by Xavier Lefebvre, presented by Stéphane Bern, which delves into the heart of the five years of restoration work. At 11:05 p.m., The breath of Notre-Dame will follow, offering a focus on the four years of restoration of the grand organ, a film by Julien Leloup.
On November 30 from 8:50 p.m., Arte will broadcast a special evening dedicated to Notre-Dame, also available online on arte.tv from November 23. The programming will begin with the documentary Investigation into the buried treasures of Notre-Dame by Florence Tran, who explores the archaeological excavations under the cathedral. At 10:10 p.m., Notre-Dame de Paris: the construction site of the centurya documentary series in three 52-minute episodes produced by Vincent Amouroux, will look back on two years of scientific work around the building.
For its part, Public Senate will propose on December 6 at 10 p.m. Save Notre Damea documentary co-directed by Quentin Domart, Charlène Gravel and Michèle Hollander, retracing the “immediate consequences” of the fire of April 15, 2019. This film will be available for replay until January 6, 2025.
On December 1 from 1:40 p.m., TF1 will broadcast Notre-Dame, the construction site of their livesa two-part documentary by Laurent Fléchaire, focusing on the craftsmen who worked for five years to restore the cathedral (also available on TF1+). Furthermore, the mini-series Notre-Dame, the part of the firereleased in 2022, still remains accessible on streaming platforms.
