Be careful, it’s been stinging on the beaches of Provence and those of the Côte d’Azur for several days. Is this the consequence of the rise in temperatures, or of the currents linked to the southerly wind currently? In all this, jellyfish are making a comeback on the beaches of the PACA region. It’s difficult to anticipate their arrival, but we can already know where they are.
Thanks to reports from readers of Frequence-sud.fr and municipalities which publish beach weather daily, we can have a fairly precise collaborative map of infested areas and beaches that are still secure.
You too, report the jellyfish!
This map is established thanks to reports from rescue swimmers in charge of beach surveillance in around ten partner municipalities, but also and above all, thanks to reports from Frequence-sud.fr readers.
To report the presence of a jellyfish, two possible methods:
Geolocate automatically
Geolocation allows you to directly find the nearest beach.
> Activate geolocation to display nearby beaches and report the presence of jellyfish
You will need to authorize access to geolocation on your smartphone. This authorization is only intended to position you on the nearest beach. No other use is made of your location.
