The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture has announced the imminent opening of three major stadiums in Senegal.
The Aline Sitoé Diatta stadiums in Ziguinchor, Ely Manel Fall in Diourbel, and Lamine Guèye in Kaolack will be accessible to the public from Tuesday, November 19, 2024, according to a press release from Minister Khady Diène Gaye.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, these new infrastructures are part of a strategy to modernize sports equipment, driven by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye.
The objective is to provide the regions of Ziguinchor, Diourbel, and Kaolack with modern stadiums, meeting the needs of young people, sports players, and local communities, to encourage sporting development.
The Minister recalled the importance of effective and civic management of these installations. She encouraged management committees as well as users to ensure the maintenance of these infrastructures, in order to ensure their sustainability and proper functioning for future generations.
Local authorities and the presidents of departmental councils are also invited to actively collaborate to maintain the quality of this equipment, thus meeting the expectations of sports fans across the country.
