The proposal of the Court of Auditors, formulated last month, to eliminate 100,000 positions in local authorities, is castigated by Franck Leroy, three days before the congress of mayors of Marne (Saturday November 16 in Châlons). The increase in the number of civil servants responds, in his eyes, to “the increasing complexity of society”he declares to The union – The Ardennes.
The elected official cites two examples: security, which “forces many territories to create police posts”and IT, which faces a growing cyber threat. “In Épernay, ten years ago, we had five agents in our IT services. Today, there are nine positions, and 14 or 15 are needed. In France, there is not a community that has not considerably strengthened its IT workforce. »
“It’s easy to judge from Paris”
But his opinion goes far beyond computer hacking: “The State can accuse us, it is not us who generated the complexity of today's world, the anxiety it generates, and the need for public services to respond to the anxiety of our fellow citizens. »
To return to the idea of the Court of Auditors, Franck Leroy therefore finds it, unsurprisingly, above ground. “The magistrates of the Court of Auditors, I would like them to come and spend six months in our communities, they would realize what the world is like today… It's easy to judge from Paris , based on ratios. But damn, let them come on the field, these people! Let them come and meet elected officials and see the difficulties we encounter, faced with increasingly demanding fellow citizens. »
The invitation is extended…
