La Poste, in partnership with Promologis, the first Social Enterprise for Housing in the Region, is launching an initiative to better identify and prevent the vulnerabilities of seniors in Tarn-et-Garonne. Since the end of October, postmen have been going to the homes of 870 seniors in 28 municipalities to raise awareness about prevention as part of two public health measures: the ICOPE prevention program and the national anti-fall plan. The objective is to better understand the needs of seniors by detecting their fragilities to delay the loss of autonomy. The data collected will be used to direct seniors to expert partners such as IHU Healthage in Toulouse for the ICOPE program and Alogia for housing adaptation. The national anti-fall plan, launched in 2022, aims to prevent the risk of falls among people aged 75 and over. Postmen give tenants a flyer and invite them to answer a questionnaire to identify fall risks. The responses are sent to Promologis, which offers a free diagnosis with an Alogia occupational therapist for the most concerned seniors. The postmen were trained to support Promologis in collecting data and screening for vulnerabilities. Eleven postmen were trained by La Poste Santé & Autonomie with the support of teams from the Gérontopôle of the IHU in Toulouse.
