☆ From November 18 to 24, 2024, this 13th edition highlights professions and innovation in the industrial sector, with the objectives of arousing vocations among young people, deconstructing clichés and showing all the richness of this sector.
➔ What is Industry Week?
Launched in 2011, Industry Week is an unmissable meeting between the professional world and education. Led by the General Directorate of Enterprises (DGE), this event aims to promote industrial professions among young people. The objective is to offer them better visibility of the opportunities offered by this sector, which recruits women and men, at all qualification levels. Each year, more than 3,000 events are organized throughout France, allowing you to discover the diversity of professions and the innovative technologies that are shaping the industry of tomorrow.
➔ Industry Week in Loire-Atlantique
On the occasion of Industry Week, 40 events are organized in Loire-Atlantique: company visits, presentation of training and professions, meetings, workshops, etc.

Loire-Atlantique is a particularly dynamic department in the industrial sector. The sectors are numerous, ranging from aeronautics to shipbuilding, including agri-food and renewable energies.
Some key figures :
– 85,000 jobs in industry and construction, more than a quarter of the department's jobs.
– 1/4 of industrial jobs of the department are in the agri-food industry.
– More than 4,000 jobs in the marine renewable energy sector, particularly around France's first offshore wind farm, off the coast of Saint-Nazaire.
➔ Major measures: France 2030 and the ecological transition
The 2024 edition of industry week takes place in a context of major transformation of French industries. THE plan France 2030 is a lever that supports reindustrialization, encourages innovation and supports transitions, particularly ecological and digital. All sectors are concerned: aeronautics, renewable energies, health, digital, training for the future, etc.
In Loire-Atlantique, large-scale projects are already in place to support these transitions. For example, the industrial-port zone of Saint-Nazaire was selected to benefit from the program Low Carbon Industrial Zone (ZIBaC)an ambitious project aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030. This project benefits from massive investments and concerns an area which, today, is among the largest emitters of GHGs in France .
In total, there are more than 333 million euros which were allocated to industrial projects in Loire-Atlantique, crucial support to strengthen the attractiveness of the Loire-Atlantique department.
➔ Visit of sub-prefects to the Loire-Atlantique territory on the occasion of industry week
As part of this week dedicated to industry, district sub-prefects will visit several industrial sites to interact with local economic players and participate in events promoting industrial professions. These visits will be an opportunity to discover innovative initiatives, meet young people in training, and highlight companies that are recruiting.
On the program:
– district of Châteaubriant-Ancenis: Marc Makhlouf, sub-prefect, will visit the Bouhyer foundry in Ancenis-Saint-Géréon, on Wednesday November 20;
– district of Saint-Nazaire: Eric de Wispeleare, sub-prefect, will visit the Fab Academy of Saint-Nazaire on Thursday, November 21;
– district of Nantes: Tom Follet, deputy secretary general, will discover the Minco company, creator of joinery and hybrid windows, based in Aigrefeuille-sur-Maine, on Friday November 22.
