On Friday, November 15, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., the municipality of Lalbenquein the Lot, officially launches the biggest project of his mandatewith the installation of the first stone of its third place and invites residents to discover this ambitious project, during a ceremony which will be held at the project location, with a presentation of the project by the La Tresse association.

This event will allow better understand the details of the project in the presence of financial partners: the State, the Occitanie Region and the Lot department.

The genesis of the project in Lalbenque

It all started in 2021, when the municipality formed a group of citizens, accompanied by ADEFPAT, to think together about the restoration and rehabilitation of the old presbytery. This collective work led to the creation of the La Tresse association, whose aim is to promote solidarity, sharing and social bonds, in an ecological and sustainable framework.

After a year of discussions and reflection, the needs of the future third place were identified: to enliven cultural life and support the associative dynamics of Lalbenque.

From there, the idea of ​​a third place was born: a coworking space, an associative café and a resource center, conducive to intergenerational meetings and enriching exchanges.

On September 3, elected officials and the project manager brought together the selected companies to officially start the work. The site, which includes thirteen lots such as demolition, structural work, framing, carpentry, and electricity, involves eleven companies, including six from Lotoise, four from Occitanie and one from Ille-et-Vilaine.

The first work, less visible, began with an asbestos removal operation prior to demolition.

Liliane Lugol, mayor of Lalbenque, and the Municipal Council will be delighted to share this symbolic moment with the public, on November 15, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
