This Wednesday, November 13, Haute-Marne farmers were mobilized in front of the Haute-Marne prefecture from 10 a.m. Responding to the call from the FDSEA, Young Farmers and the Departmental Federation of Milk Producers, they are making their discontent heard ahead of the national mobilization planned for November 18.
For two nights, the Young Farmers took down the signs in the villages of Haute-Marne. All were brought and dropped off in front of the prefecture this Wednesday. A very impressive spectacle. A well-orchestrated “happy bazaar” which was held in good humor and respect for the police present to secure the prefecture.
It was Lactalis' announcement to reduce the volume of milk collected and to leave 17 dairy producers in southern Haut-Marne in the lurch that ignited the situation and encouraged the Haut-Marne to get the ball rolling. But other reasons are mentioned, such as administrative burdens, the unfinished agricultural orientation law (LOA) or Mercosur which remains a subject of concern. All in the gloomy context of a complicated year with the weather.
