The five communes of Montaigu Vendée met this Monday, November 11, in the delegated commune of Boufféré, to commemorate the end of the 1914-18 war. A multi-generational gathering so as not to forget, in a newly renovated church and the wishes to perpetuate these moments.
Dominique Tollec, president of the local section of the National Union of Combatants (UNC), welcomed “the memory of the combatants”. He emphasized “that the peace and stability of states are fragile and that we must demonstrate resilience to preserve the achievements of our democracy”.
The ceremony ended with the presentation of medals to eleven recipients. Honorary brooch to three widows of veterans: Thérèse Bourasseau, Renée Guillon and Christiane Rousseau.
