TPE: social dialogue at the heart of the elections in Aveyron

the essential
As professional elections in very small businesses approach, the Regional Interprofessional Joint Commission for Crafts (CPRIA) is redoubling its efforts to raise awareness among employees, particularly young people, of the importance of social dialogue.

From November 25 to December 9, nearly 5 million employees working in Very Small Businesses (VSEs) will be called to vote to elect their representatives. Paradoxically, many of them, although in the absence of a social and economic committee (CSE) or legal representatives in their company, feel little concerned by these professional elections.

To reverse this trend, the Joint Regional Interprofessional Commission for Crafts (CPRIA) is leading an active campaign to promote social dialogue and encourage participation in elections. Participation remains the major issue in these elections.

Since 2001, this organization has worked to build collective dialogue in craft businesses.

Recently, CPRIA Occitanie launched an initiative entitled “Ambassadors of social dialogue” in the premises of the Ruthenian company Rouergue Saveurs, at Pierre Azemar, in Moutiers. This approach is based on equal pairs (employers and employees) who travel throughout Aveyron and other departments of Occitanie.

Their mission is to raise awareness among employees, whether young, experienced or apprentices, of the importance of social dialogue and professional elections. According to the CPRIA, social dialogue is a key lever for improving business performance and the quality of life at work.

By advocating cooperation rather than conflict, it makes it possible to overcome differences of interest to build collective solutions.

An educational tool to reach younger generations

To train its ambassadors, the CPRIA relies on an educational kit which addresses various subjects: business operations, salaries, professional equality, working conditions, or even the engagement of young people in the professional world.

This approach is essential, because crafts occupy a central place in Occitania with 212,792 companies spread across the service, construction, food and production sectors. Reaching VSE employees, particularly young people, is therefore strategic to strengthen sustainable social dialogue in the region.

The ambassadors' initiative, in addition to promoting a better understanding of professional issues, aims to encourage active participation of employees in elections, a crucial event for representing their interests in the years to come.
