The tragedy took place late in the evening, Tuesday November 12, 2024. It was a little after 10 p.m. when the firefighters were urgently called to the Lombez sector (Gers). A violent accident had just occurred on the road to Samatan.

A 56-year-old woman killed instantly

Ejected from the vehicle, the victim was “in cardiorespiratory arrest”, specify the emergency services, who add that the accident took place “ with high kinetics ».

Despite significant resources deployed in the area, the fifty-year-old was declared dead a few minutes later. There gendarmerie was also present on the scene.

Already fifteen deaths on the roads

This is already the fifteenth death on the roads of Gers since the start of the year. That's more than last year. And even in 2022, 2021, 2020… We have to go back to 2019 to find worse figures. And the year is not over.
