A 49-year-old man died after being stabbed in the street, in (Ille-et-Vilaine), this Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The perpetrator is currently on the run, according to the police.

A 49-year-old man received several fatal stab wounds, around 12 p.m., this Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Rennes, during a violent altercation. He was fatally injured by another man, armed with several knives, including a large kitchen knife, according to a police source.

Alerted, the emergency services could only note the death of the victim. LThe attack took place in the city center, near 54 rue Papu, in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), near a residence managed by the Habitat et Humanisme association and some 50 meters from a nursery school.

The victim lived in this residence on rue Papu, according to information collected on site.

Police officers are walking the street, blocked off to traffic, looking for the murder weapon. They are looking in particular under the cars parked in the street.

The perpetrator of the stabbing is on the run. According to witnesses interviewed by the police, he would be around twenty years old and of African type.

According to police, the victim is not an educator as initial reports suggested. Another source mentions a dispute related to drugs.
