The deputy for the second constituency of Deux-Sèvres Delphine Batho is launching a “permanent assembly”in the form of a series of public meetings: “There is an urgent need to listen and bring democracy to life on our scale by taking into account what each person feels “, she explains.
Open to all, this assembly must allow everyone to give their political opinion on all subjects, “without taboos and without electoral issues”to feed parliamentary work. Participants vote on the topics they wish to discuss.
The first of fifteen meetings took place on October 11 in Brioux-sur-Boutonne, in the presence of around fifty people. Around twenty topics were suggested. Water and its management, agriculture and pesticides, media and democracy, obtaining the majority of votes, opened the debates.
The next meetings will take place (at 6:30 p.m.) on November 28 in the sociocultural room in Sauzé-Vaussais, November 29 in the Michel-Bonnet room in Thénezay, December 18 in La Mothe-Saint-Héray, December 19 in Chef-Boutonne, 17 February 2025 in Beauvoir-sur-Niort; February 19 in Lezay, February 20 in La Crèche, March 20 in Ménigoute, March 21 in Celles-sur-Belle, April 9 in Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan, April 10 in Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon, May 5 in Saint- Maixent-l’École, May 12 in Melle, May 21 in Parthenay.
