For the 2nd year, the Tarascon cinema and the Ciné 9 association, which promotes arthouse cinema in Ariège cinemas, are inviting film buffs next Sunday to European Cinema Day. A fine selection of four films will be offered to the public in preview, since they will not be released in theaters until 2025.
The selection
This journey through arthouse Europe will begin at 2 p.m. with a Norwegian film “The Convocation, Armand”, or how schoolyard incidents shake up parents' certainties. At 4 p.m., “La vie, en gros” (French version), a Czech animated film which will highlight how others view grossophobia (from 8 years old). At 5:30 p.m., “Professor Freud”, a film from the United Kingdom, will evoke the surprising meeting between the founder of psychoanalysis, played by Anthony Hopkins, and the children's book writer CS Lewis. Finally, at 8:30 p.m., “Le dossier Maldoror”, a Belgian thriller, will keep spectators in suspense with, at the head of the trio of investigators, the young French actor Anthony Bajon.
Between the screenings there will be a special time to discuss the films, with hot drinks and treats offered by Ciné 9. Finally, between the last two films, around 7:30 p.m., an aperitif dinner will be served by the Entre' association.
