This Wednesday, November 13, the commemoration ceremony of November 13, 2015 takes place. On the occasion, many streets in Paris are closed to parking and traffic. Here are the ones.
Paris remembers. This Wednesday marks nine years since the November 13 attacks, which left 129 dead across the capital. To honor the duty of memory, the City of Paris pays tribute to the deceased all day this Wednesday.
For the occasion, the town hall of the 11th arrondissement will be closed until 2 p.m., during the commemoration ceremony which takes place in the morning. Also, “important security measures, likely to cause traffic and parking restrictions, will be put in place,” warns the municipality on its site.
In fact, it is mainly the 10th and 11th arrondissements which are affected by these bans.
Streets to avoid
Until 6 p.m., several streets and boulevards in the 11th arrondissement will be closed to traffic and parking.
In the running: Boulevard Jules-Ferry; Boulevard Richard-Lenoir; Boulevard Voltaire; rue de Charonne; rue de la Fontaine au Roi; rue de Montreuil; industrial buildings street; rue Faidherbe; rue Jean-Macé; Oberkampf Street; Avenue Parmentier.
“Any parking of a vehicle in violation of this ban will be considered inconvenient,” indicates the town hall in a decree.
In the 10th arrondissement, only three streets will be prohibited from parking. These are rue Alibert, “in its part between rue Parmentier and n°14”, rue Bichat “in its part between n°29 and n°37”, as well as rue Marie and Louise, between rue Alibert and n°5.
