Beaten, disfigured… the octogenarian found unconscious and half naked in , was able to be identified

This 80-year-old man is still between life and death. The investigation continues to understand under what circumstances and by whom he was lynched.

Still in intensive care at the Lapeyronie hospital center, the vital prognosis of this octogenarian with a disfigured face found this Sunday, November 10 around 9 a.m., rue de Tipasa in the La Paillade district of Montpellier, is still engaged.

It was a passer-by who discovered him, unconscious and half-naked (without underwear or pants), lying behind a hedge. He was able to be formally identified thanks to his sister who came to make a worrying disappearance report this Sunday afternoon, giving a distinctive sign concerning him. In this case, a tattoo.

Suffering from Alzheimer's disease, he was accustomed to this type of “running away”. This is why she did not report his disappearance when he left her home this Saturday, November 9 around 4 p.m. Aged 80, we know today that he lives on avenue de Maurin in the Lemasson district.

Many gray areas

So how and why did he end up on rue de Tipasa in La Paillade, opposite where he lives? Did he used to go there? Did he want to take a walk in the pine forest? Did he have a bad encounter there? Or was he taken there by force? History, for the moment, does not tell.

What we do know, however, is that the medical examiner's report appears to be damning, with significant and serious injuries resulting from a real beating at the end of which his attacker(s) left him for dead.

Attempted intentional homicide

So much so that the investigation is now focusing on attempted intentional homicide. A judicial investigation should be opened by the public prosecutor in the coming hours.
