Philippe Loosaged 54, is therefore the new prefect of Cantal. Originally from the'AriegePhilippe Loos knows the department a little. In fact, he spent two years at the Duclaux high school inAurillac and was even a “ski instructor in Lioran. Law studies

After studying right, he began his professional career as commissioner, before becoming head of General Intelligence near Narbonne. It was in 2008 that he joined the prefectural body as sub-prefect in Gourdon, in the Lot. Most recently, he was secretary general of the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture.

L’agriculture

As soon as he arrives, he will be confronted with certain “hot” issues. First of all: theagriculture. He says he is ready “to be a facilitator prefect, to meet the interlocutors, I will be a local prefect”.

With a first interview with the president of the Cantal Chamber of Agriculture where the treaty of Mercosur, the question of prices and all the other demands “from the agricultural world”. He also intends to meet all the agricultural unions in the department.

“I haven’t had a chance to see everyone yet, of course. But I want to meet all the elected officials, go into the field. My office is very beautiful but I don't plan to stay there often, but respond to invitations from elected officials. I plan to listen to them. Cantal has an economic wealth that one would not suspect in many sectors and this can be a strength.”

From a road safety point of view, the new prefect intends to ask the police “to be very present on the Cantal roads. We must chase away all these Fangios from the road, and have no tolerance for those who get behind the wheel with alcohol, drugs or who drive too fast.”

2010 : chief of staff of the prefect of Guyana.

2012 : sub-prefect of Morlaix.

2014 : chief of staff of the prefect of Essonne.

2016 : general secretary for regional affairs to the prefect of Guyana.

2020 : project manager to the secretary general of the Ministry of the Interior.

2020 : general secretary of the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture.
