Some elected officials hoped to see her resign, but this will not happen. Sandrine Dauchellethe mayor (LR) of Noyon and president of Noyonnais Countryintends to stay in his post “until 2026”, despite the strong opposition of a majority of mayors of the municipalities in the northeastern Oise region.
“I was elected president and I will remain so”
“I was elected president of the community of communes of Pays Noyonnais twice by a majority of you and I will remain so,” declared the elected official, whose management also raises eyebrows in the city of Calvin . “I have never failed in my duties as president.”
Last Friday, November 8, in the evening, the elected representatives of Pays Noyonnais voted unanimously withdrawal of delegationsone by one, by Sandrine Dauchelle. This will, however, retain control over the budget, authority and debates during the sessions.
But the president of the CCPN will no longer be able to sign anything. “Within a community of communes, we must respect each other. We are all elected, legitimate, normally conveying republican values,” she warned before the vote, denouncing a “grotesque situation”.
“Reinforce a negative image”
Several weeks ago, angry elected officials wrote a motion demanding his resignation. “Rural mayors feel forgotten and despised,” it was written. They then denounced “the disastrous financial strategy, the sharply increasing personnel costs, the insincerity of the budgets” and even “the absence of concrete projects”.
Wanting to remove by force, with violence, disrespect and without consultation, the first female mayor of Noyon, the first president in the political history of our territory, one of the 5 female mayors out of 42 in the Pays Noyonnais, will only reinforce a negative image conveyed by certain men who believe they can do anything, especially towards women; an anarchic system which does not give room for open-mindedness, discussion and equality between men and women.
“We must ignore our whims”
Sandrine Dauchelle also accused “the Delavenne circus”, in reference to the mayor of Guiscard, Thibault Delavenne, who recently took legal action against her.
“We must ignore our whims, individualism, and have only one compass, that of the general interest.”
The standoff should therefore continue in the Pays Noyonnais, as in the City of Noyon.
