Haut-Marnais Florian Morizot elected president of the League

Sunday November 10, during the general assembly of the Ligue , held in Tomblaine (Meurthe-et-), Haut-Marnais Florian Morizot was elected president of the League. Barely elected, the Director of - has no shortage of projects, particularly for Haute-.

We knew him as a runner, director of events (Paris-Troyes), Florian Morizot added a new string to his bow, by becoming, on Sunday November 10, president of the Grand Est League, in Tomblaine (Meurthe-et-Moselle ).
The new strong man of the League has no shortage of projects. His first priority is to reestablish the Haute-Marne Cycling Committee. “I will soon bring together, at the beginning of December, all the presidents of the Haut-Marne clubs to elect a president of the Committee. Haute-Marne has potential at the level of licensees, which is also on the rise this year, thanks to the SLO Bettancourt BMX club”explains Florian Morizot.
Among the other actions that the new president of the Grand Est League wishes to implement, there is the creation of events reserved for leisure and not licensed.. “I would like to give road and mountain bike courses to recreational runners. This also involves the creation of new races. You have to look for riders who are not FFC licensed. We must open the races to non-licensees, because this will allow us to have larger pelotons. The tests under the aegis of the FFC may be more restrictive »declares Florian Morizot.
Professionalization of departments
The professionalization of departments is close to Florian Morizot’s heart. “The Grand Est League has an area that is double that of Belgium. We need to hire in order to provide more services to clubs. This involves the professionalization of departments, with a development agent per department who is our relay. We must decentralize knowledge of how to ride a bike. We need to provide proximity.”
Youth is also a priority for Florian Morizot. “Disciplines like BMX and gravel are growing with many young people taking licenses. There are several sports within cycling. We must encourage physical activity and offer activities open to all. I would like to make races reserved for young people free. »
The former professional runner has not forgotten where he came from and keeps a close eye on the safety aspect. “We must train the bikers who make the races safe. In terms of organizing events, the specifications are quite heavy for the clubs. The races are quite safe. The biggest difficulty today is finding marshals and volunteers”declares Florian Morizot, who therefore has his work cut out for him to implement his action plan within the Grand Est League.
Being the new strong man of the Grand Est region, Florian Morizot will hand over to David Messant, president of UV Aube, at the general management level of Paris-Troyes, while still remaining involved in the organization of this race. Florian Morizot has cycling in his skin.
