The Émile Huchet thermal power plant in Saint-Avold (Moselle) restarts on Tuesday November 12, 2024. This information is confirmed this Tuesday morning by GazelÉnergie.
This restart follows the request from the electricity transmission network (RTE). The current price per megawatt hour on the market makes the plant competitive. Émile Huchet still has the essential skills with 90 employees. Following a maintenance period, it has already undergone a conclusive operating test in September. Completely restarting the installation is still a delicate operation.
The Émile Huchet power station still has a sufficient stock of coal on its site to meet RTE's demand. This will undoubtedly be his last campaign. It has an operating authorization until December 31, 2024.
