Children who grow up within four walls, confined to the house as soon as they leave school, with their bedroom and living room as their playground… « Children don't get enough outdoors and less and less » : in a very detailed report, the High Council for the Family, Childhood and Age (HCFEA), is concerned about the emergence of a generation of « children from within »according to the expression coined by the Dutch geographers Lia Karsten and Willem van Vliet. Tuesday, the body's recommendations are presented publicly by Sylviane Giampino, president of the HCFEA and its childhood and adolescence branch. Placed under the authority of Matignon, the body calls for « bring the outdoors back to children and adolescents. »
More accustomed to clicking on a tablet than to roaming the streets or walking the paths, little taken into account in city policy, children see their links with the outside world diminish…
