Having become a must for seasonal rentals, the Airbnb platform reached records in 2024. Lisbon and Paris have the highest densities of rental accommodation in Europe.

According to a study carried out by the Statista portal, Paris recorded one of the highest densities of Airbnb rentals in Europe, at the end of the third quarter of 2024, at a rate of 45.7 accommodations per 1,000 inhabitants. The City of Light comes second in the ranking, behind Lisbon, which has 46.7 Airbnb accommodations per 1,000 inhabitants. In detail, Paris would house around 90,000 housing units, and Lisbon 24,000.
The “anti-Airbnb” law to regulate tourist rentals
Far behind these two seasonal rental giants, Venice (33.2) and Copenhagen (31.7) rise to third and fourth place respectively in the ranking. Then come, further behind, Rome (12.4), Barcelona (11.4), London (10.9), and Amsterdam (10.5).
