The association “Frédie, la vie au Niger”, based in Donnay (), will celebrate its 20 years of commitment by organizing a banquet filled with solidarity in African colors.

This annual meal, which promises to be captivating, is part of a process of fundraising for to educational and solidarity projects for young Nigerians.

20 ans d’engagement

Founded in 2004, the association today brings together 150 members and around twenty volunteers, committed to improve living and educational conditions in Niger.

Mauricette Piel, president of the association, shares the enthusiasm surrounding the event.

Amina and Danielle Decayeux will prepare the meal. They were born in Niger and live in . They will cook taguella, the basic dish of the Tuaregs.

This traditional bread, often baked in the sand under embers, is emblematic of Nigerien culture and will be at the heart of this evening.

Guests from Niger

Guests will be welcomed by Mauricette, dressed in an African outfit offered by Moustapha and his wifeNigerien friends whom the association supported.

« Moustapha is an electrical technician and his wife is a nurse. Today, they support our action from Niger through their own association, Ziwinzir,” explains Mauricette.

With a little luck, Moustapha, accompanied by Natawa, head of Ziwinzir in Niger in Africa, will be present for this evening, provided you obtain the visa.

An evening punctuated by music

“The evening will be punctuated by a musical performance from Suisse Normande Percu, immersing the guests in a festive and warm atmosphere,” adds Jack Bercy, communications manager.

This banquet is also an opportunity to strengthen ties between members and friends of the associationwhile recalling that the continuation of their educational projects in Niger depends on the solidarity of everyone.

“Our mission is topromote the autonomy of young Nigeriens by supporting their access to education,” concludes Mauricette. A mission which, after 20 years, continues to inspire many Normans.
