Updated at 5:38 p.m.: the seriously injured woman in her fifties could not be resuscitated by emergency services. She is officially declared dead. The other victim, a man of the same age, was transported to Rouen University Hospital. The scene of the disaster was secured by Enedis.

Busy day for firefighters of Seine-Maritime. After the fire in an apartment in Barentin at the beginning of the afternoon, a second broke out in a building on rue Louis-Demarest, in Sotteville-lès-Rouen, just before 4 p.m.

Two victims, present in the apartment at the time of the disaster, are to be deplored. A woman in her fifties is seriously injuredaccording to the firefighters, while a man of the same age suffered minor injuries.

“Clearing and ventilation operations are underway”, add the firefighters. Nine residents were evacuated. There were 22 firefighters and 6 engines on site to put out the flames.
