The Canal from a new angle
During this conference, Patricia Carlier will approach the history of Lunel and its Canal from a different angle: that of gastronomy. It's difficult to talk about the history of the Canal du Lunel without talking about fishing and eel. An obvious link for the Lunelois, nicknamed the “Pescalunes” or “moon fishermen”in reference to their history as fishermen. Long used as a port, it contributed to the development of the city but also shaped its culture and cuisine. Patricia Carlier will explore the many links that unite the Canal de Lunel and local gastronomy.
