Ousmane Sonko ignites Mbacké: Poignant tribute and firm positions on political transhumance

Sunday evening, Mbacké went out of her way to welcome Ousmane Sonko, leader of the PASTEF coalition, during a large nighttime gathering. This meeting allowed Sonko to pay vibrant tribute to Modou Tall, a young activist who died tragically during a campaign caravan. Accompanied by leading political figures like Déthié Fall, Boubacar Camara and Aïda Mbodj, Sonko also took the time to clarify PASTEF’s positions on political rallies and transhumance, subjects which are causing a lot of discussion in the context of the legislative elections.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ousmane Sonko made things clear in the face of rumors: he has never prohibited transhumants from joining PASTEF, but he imposes strict conditions. “All transhumance is subject to certain conditionalities,” he declared, emphasizing the importance of integrity for those who wish to join his party. Stressing that PASTEF is not a “win-sharing” space, Sonko expressed that new arrivals would not be placed above those who have been loyal from the start.

He also affirmed that he is not seeking any support, rejecting any accusation of opportunism: “I have not gone to anyone to ask them to join us. » Faithful to his principles, Sonko intends to lead PASTEF towards its objectives without giving in to alliances of circumstance.
