Emerance Maschmeyer stopped 36 shots in front of the Canadian net.
Kristin O’Neill found the back of the net in the middle period and Emily Clark completed the scoring with 3:55 left in the third period.
Laila Edwards scored the only goal for the Americans to cut the lead to 3-1 with about six minutes remaining in the game.
The two nations faced each other for the third time, in three different cities, in five days.
The United States won the first game 7-2 on Wednesday in San Jose, and Canada won the second game 5-4 in a shootout on Friday in Salt Lake City.
The last two duels of the series will be played in Canada in February.
Larocque, 36, is the oldest player in the series this year. She recovered a loose puck in front of the net to open the scoring after just 3:30 of play and Canada was never worried again after that.
