The inauguration of the Montauban Energy Recovery Unit (Mo'UVE) took place on November 7. Thanks to this unit, waste from Grand Montauban and Terres de Confluences is subject to energy recovery.
Julien Henrard, deputy secretary general of the Prefecture of Tarn-et-Garonne, took part in a key event for the region by going to the Séché company site in Montauban, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Montauban Energy Recovery Unit, commonly called Mo'UVE. This ceremony, which brought together numerous elected officials and institutional actors, as well as the president of Séché Environnement, marks a significant step forward in sustainable waste management and the region's energy transition.
In his speech, Mr. Henrard underlined the scope of this project, calling it an illustration of the “ecology of solutions”, an integrated approach where the vision of local elected officials and industrial expertise combine to respond to ecological challenges. current. He also highlighted the role of the State in supporting this major achievement, recalling that this institutional support had made it possible to carry out a project that was as ambitious as it was rigorous.
The Mo'UVE Unit is part of a circular economy dynamic by recovering waste produced by the local authorities of Grand Montauban and Terres de Confluences. This waste, formerly destined for landfill or incineration without recovery, is now transformed into renewable electricity and heat. Part of this energy produced is directly injected into the urban heat network, thus helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and providing a clean source of energy for residents in the region.
This project represents not only ecological progress but also a model of collaboration between the public sector, businesses and communities, demonstrating that innovation and cooperation can respond to the challenges of the energy transition.
