François Durovray, Minister of Transport, agreed to answer Brigitte Boucher's questions in “La politique s'claire” this Sunday, November 10.

A call for a strike was launched by the SNCF on November 21, followed by a renewable strike from December 11. Questioned on this subject, François Durovray stressed that the railway workers wish to find a solution through dialogue. “This dialogue must succeed because we cannot imagine that at the moment when must move forward, it will be blocked and that at the moment when the French want to find themselves again, they will not be able to do so,” indicates the minister.

Favoring a dialogue between leaders and trade union organizations, the Minister of Transport will be required to receive the unions in order to continue discussions. Within SNCF, which is a 100% public company, the State has seats on the board of directors. Asked about his role in the conflict, the minister indicated that he wanted to ensure the quality and continuity of public service. In the rest of the interview, François Durovray will discuss the dismantling of Fret SNCF, the consequences of the closure of the - line, the car-express plan, the tax on plane tickets and the return of strikes in several sectors.
