The magazine Capital has just published a ranking of the departments which display the strongest driving license pass rate. At the top, we find Eure, Yonne and Drôme. Two departments of Occitanie narrowly slip into their Top 10 (Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne), except that…

Except that the newspaper is based on the driving school barometer By Car Simone. And that this online agency is simply absent from several departments in the region. Daily life Free Maine therefore chose to dive only into the figures provided by the Ministry of the Interior to publish another ranking, which clearly highlights Occitania. Finally, some of its departments…

Lozère still cultivates its difference

So, it is Lozere which displayed the best success rate throughout 2023 (for the B license for all presentations combined, first time or not): 72,5 %. Certainly, the low number of candidates (1,635) in the least populated department in (around 76,000) can partly explain this situation. But that's not enough. Thus, in the same region, Tarn-et-Garonne (263,000 inhabitants) displays a similar number of candidates (1,578). But much less good results (50.8%, which makes it one of the last in the country).

In fact, Lozère is a profitable area also because it has much shorter delivery times than the average. There is also accompanied driving. In Lozère, 88% of the 575 candidates who practiced it obtained the license compared to 72.5% for all candidates. And there are, otherwise, things that cannot be explained…

Gers and Lot also stand out

In the rest of the national Top 10, it is other rural departments of Occitanie which shine. Gers is thus third behind Haute-Corse with 69,1 %. And Lot is sixth with 67,5 %.

For the rest, we find for example the Gard in a relatively comfortable position with 61.8% (17,589) like the Tarn with its 8,226 candidates (58.6%).

About a one in two chance among these poor students

On the side of the bad students, there is, in addition to Tarn-et-Garonne, Ariègewhich does not do better than 51.3% (3,415 candidates) and Aude (51.9% for 11,199 candidates).
