Reservists of the Aude gendarmerie, sisters Estelle and Caroline Gaspard shine with their commitment

Aged 24 and 25 respectively, Carcassonnaises Estelle and Caroline Gaspard have chosen to put their sporting skills at the service of the reserve of the departmental group of the Aude gendarmerie.

The gendarmerie in Aude today consists of 580 men and women. It was at the respective ages of 4 and 5 that Estelle and her sister Caroline started judo in Carcassonne before discovering combat jujitsu with their teacher Cyril Juffroy… It was in 2017 that Estelle graduated a first world title among cadets, before joining the National Jujitsu Center in Orléans for two years. She then followed the CQP MAM (Professional Qualification Certificate for Martial Arts Instructor) training in the hope of becoming a military sports instructor. With two world and national titles, she then completed her gendarmerie military preparation (PMG) in April 2021, and joined the Orléans gendarmerie reserve, then that of Carcassonne. Today, she teaches jujitsu at the Cité des sports in Carcassonne, alongside her unwavering commitment to the Aude gendarmerie reserve. As such, this young woman was also awarded two written congratulations from the major general of the national gendarmerie.

On October 17, in the courtyard of the count's castle in the city of Carcassonne, Estelle Gaspard was given a letter of congratulations by Brigadier General Thibaut Lagrange, commander of the gendarmerie region and the Haute-Garonne group. .

As for his sister Caroline, she engaged in legal studies and obtained a master's degree in law. Influenced by Estelle, she first completed her military preparation in Saint-Astier (24). Having thus found her vocation, she then joined the operational reserve of the Aude gendarmerie, before passing the officer competition and joining the National Gendarmerie Officers School (EOGN) in . Always in search of perfection, she has won several international medals, as well as national titles, notably that of double French military judo champion. “We are proud and honored to have in our ranks athletes of great value, who not only provide significant reinforcement to the field units, but who, through their commitment, play their role as influencers, with all a sporting youth in search of orientation”indicates squadron leader François Martinez, reserve advisor to the Aude departmental gendarmerie group.
