An act of vandalism marked the day of November 9 in Bron, where the war memorial paying tribute to those shot in the town was the target of an insulting inscription. The tag, carrying the words “Fuck Israel,” was spotted in the middle of the afternoon on the building located on avenue du Général-de-Gaulle, reports Progress.

Alerted, the police immediately went to the site to make initial observations and take the necessary measures. A request to clean the monument to erase all traces of this degradation was quickly made.

The perpetrator(s) of the act have not yet been identified and an investigation has been opened to find them.

“Unacceptable and intolerable! No tag that advocates racism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia has any place in Bron or elsewhere. Also, as soon as I was alerted yesterday, I immediately contacted the Forces of order for investigation and the City services for cleaning.” Jérémie Bréaud, mayor of Bron, was outraged.
