In La Manche, college students slammers to fight against school bullying

On the occasion of National Anti-Harassment Day, academy inspector Stéphane Vautier visited Thursday November 7, 2024 au college of Périers (Manche).

In all establishments in La Manche, events are taking place intended to raise even more awareness among students and the school community around this issue of harassment. This work is done throughout the year and in particular on the occasion of this national day.

The choice of this trip to Périers was motivated by a production carried out last year by 18 students from a class of 4e. They wrote, with their French teacher, a slam inspired by a news item Or a young girl harassed by a friend try to suicide.

The text was then set to music with the help of their music teacher.

Méline, Salomé and Lola declaimed it Thursday in front of the 230 students of the establishment in order to raise awareness of the consequences what can be hurtful words and behaviors which could lead to the irreparable.

Anonymous questionnaire

This moment was followed bya time of exchange with the academy inspector and the educational team. The authors, today in 3echose slam as vector of communication pertinent : “We found that it was louder than a poster to touch our comrades.”

This approach led to research focusing, among other things, on the work of the slammer Grand Corps Malade, before putting their message on paper. They invested beyond the two scheduled awareness hours by spilling over into the French lessons.

Le Fairage de Périers college is no more exposed to harassment than any other. “All establishments are faced with this problem and we are making sure that quick responses be made so that there is no no consequences for the students, explains Stéphane Vautier. This establishment is no more concerned than any other by this risk. »

Like the other students in the department, from primary to high schoolPrisiais college students were invited to respond to an anonymous self-assessment questionnaire allowing situations of harassment to be identified. The academy inspector advocated dialogue: “If you encounter difficultiesdon’t hesitate to talk to adults about it.” This day against harassment also aimed to free speech.
