An investigation into “violence against a person responsible for a public service mission” was opened after a man attacked a practitioner in a hospital in Val-de-Marne on Friday, November 8. He had come to visit his father and was unhappy with the wait time.
As reported Le Figaroa man was arrested by the police on Friday November 8 after attacking a doctor at the Bicêtre AP-HP hospital, in Val-de-Marne. Dissatisfied with the waiting time in the emergency room to see his father, the man allegedly punched the doctor in the face.
The injured doctor
The latter then fell and injured his arm. Contacted by Le Figarothe Créteil public prosecutor's office confirmed that a complaint had been filed and that the suspect had been arrested. His police custody is currently still in progress at the Kremlin-Bicêtre police station.
Attacks on doctors are clearly increasing. Between January and December 2023, 1,581 doctors reported an attack, or more than 27% of members of the profession according to the Physician Safety Observatory.
