Between this frontal line and the coast, the easterly wind is expected to temporarily turn to the South-East, settling around 10 knots. It is probable that south of the direct route, a small minimum of pressure is being organized on the old stationary front. The wind then reaches the North-West via the North… but all this while remaining very weak.

At the end of the first night we will be able to count the points between those who tried to cross to the other side of the front by playing on this low pressure minimum and those who insisted on heading west to find themselves as quickly as possible. a clean wind. Option 1 seems riskier but more rewarding. In any case, at noon, everyone will be sailing in a well-established northeast flow. The pressure will be greater on the southern route where we can already count on 15 to 20 knots of wind.

Arriving at Cape Finisterre where 30 knots from the North-East are expected in the middle of the day, everyone will be able to make a choice again. Follow the coast on the most direct route, but beware of the traps of slack water in the lee of the coast, or go back on the starboard tack towards the West to take advantage of the strong wind for longer and return to the port tack in a more established flow, but this involves a detour.
