It is the busiest line in Europe and yet it is stopped until Wednesday November 13 at 5 a.m. No more trains are running on the high-speed line between Paris and Lyon-Marseille due to work.
Travelers boarded a TGV heading to Lyon or Marseille. Their journey will be much longer than usual due to the work started on the night of November 8: “They could have chosen another weekend than a three-day weekend”laments a traveler. Since 11 p.m. yesterday evening and until 4 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, no trains are running on the high-speed axis linking Paris and Marseille via Lyon. To complete a trip successfully, you will have to use classic lines, with much longer journeys.
A weekend that promises to be very special in perspective with only 30% of trains in circulation. Travelers were warned in advance by the SNCF. All weekend, 1,000 agents are mobilized on the line to modernize the signaling system. The long-term objective is to run more trains on this strategic line, the oldest in the network.
