The individual was arrested and the seized item was destroyed.
The affair sparked a wave of questions on social networks and beyond. This Wednesday, November 6, Mila, known for her controversial positions, shared on X (formerly Twitter) a photo showing a man near an ATM in Villeurbanne, appearing to carry a Kalashnikov.
This publication, accompanied by the caption “This chance goes for a quiet stroll with a kalash in Villeurbanne”had quickly gained momentum, pushing the authorities to open an investigation. Later the latter explained: “My source just admitted to me that he lied and did not take this photo. The source of the photo is therefore not well identified, I don't know when it was taken, but it seems real.”
This Friday, November 8, the national police announced that they had identified and checked the individual in question. After verification, the weapon he was carrying turned out to be fake. “The weapon was seized and destroyed by decision of the public prosecutor”said the police.
