In Magnac-Bourg, Le Café de Billy replaced Le Long de l’Issaure

One, two, three, five… We could have counted the number of cars and people that Clément Dubois, sitting on the terrace of his establishment, which overlooks Place Donnet in Magnac-Bourg, greeted during the interview . But the fingers would, sooner or later, have ended up missing. It must be said that someone who defines himself as “Magnacaud forever” knows a lot of people.

“I am very attached to the town,” immediately says the new manager of the bar-tobacco-press who until then worked in office automation in . And when I learned that it was for sale, I was interested because it was an opportunity to continue to keep the business alive. In fact, everything happened very naturally and I thank the former manager. »

Since October, Le Café de Billy – in reference to the nickname of Clément Dubois' son – has replaced Le Long de l'Issaure with, as a result, new opening hours.

Open all day

“We open every day from 7 a.m. (except Sunday, 8 a.m.) and non-stop until 7:30 p.m. (except Monday and Sunday, closing at 1 p.m.)explains the owner of Café de Billy. It's important to be open to such amplitudes because ultimately, we are a place of life. We see, everything is gathered here in the square, so people go to the butcher, the bakery… And they stop at the same time to buy their newspapers or simply to drink a coffee. »

And in a “dynamic commune” as he repeats, labeled for example “Stage Village”, Clément Dubois does not hide his desire to go a little further in his definition of “place to live”: “The idea is to do cool little things, he confides, to develop the bar part a little. We could imagine broadcasting sporting events, participating in demonstrations on the square, etc. Everything will happen gradually but we are motivated. »
