The Ministers of the Interior and Justice announced an action plan to fight drug trafficking this Friday, November 8.
Deaths linked to drug trafficking follow one another inexorably: 42 in the first six months of the year alone. Faced with this entrenched scourge, the Interior/Justice tandem presented this Friday, November 8, a new plan against drug trafficking in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), a sadly symbolic city in this area. Drug trafficking represents more than three billion euros in turnover per year.
Here are the main measures: creation of a national anti-organized crime prosecutor's office with dedicated magistrates, similar to what already exists in terms of terrorism, improvement of the repentant status for ex-traffickers who collaborate with the justice system, and finally , creation of a procedure for unexplained wealth to seize goods resulting from trafficking. In Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), this umpteenth plan is received with interest tinged with circumspection.
