Due to renovation work on the Paris/Lyon/Marseille TGV line in the run-up to the long weekend of November 11, train travel times will be considerably extended.
On the Paris/Lyon/Marseille axis, the trains will take much longer than expected. From this Friday, November 8 at 11 p.m., SNCF traffic will be disrupted until Wednesday, November 13 at 5 a.m. Travelers will therefore have to adapt to this change. Some have anticipated and adapted their journeys and schedules accordingly, others will have to find solutions.
Due to the closure of the high-speed line, many TGVs were canceled, and others were diverted to the classic line. It will take 4h30 to reach Lyon from the capital and 7h20 to reach Marseille. The TGVs for Montpellier and the Alps are also affected. The objective of this work is to run 16 trains per hour by 2030 compared to 13 today.
