“An unacceptable act on a school in the Republic.” This is how Clément Rossignol Puech, the environmentalist mayor of Bègles (Gironde), reacted after the discovery of several swastikas this Thursday, November 7 in the morning on the walls of a public establishment. The elected official from Béglais and vice-president of the metropolis says he “scandalized” and announced that he was going to file a complaint.

This act of vandalism comes a few months after damage already committed in Bègles. On July 9, the mayor released photographs of “racist tags” on another school in the city, with the registrations “death to the scum”, “FDP Mélenchon” and the acronym of the National Rally followed by a heart.
