TGV line closed and long weekend of November 11: SNCF is mobilizing on the route

The SNCF expects 22,000 travelers on the TER lines linking , and , compared to 16,000 usually, this long weekend of November 9, 10 and 11. A special device must be deployed. In Yonne, the , Laroche-Migennes and stations are affected.

The long weekend of November 9, 10 and 11, 2024 will be busy on the TER line which crosses the Yonne, in a context of closure of the Paris – Lyon TGV line due to works. Nearly 22,000 passengers are expected on trains on the Paris – Dijon – Lyon axis, compared to 16,000 on average.

Faced with this exceptional influx, users are invited to “favor periods of lower traffic, namely this Friday before 10:30 a.m. or Tuesday November 12, after 1 p.m.”.

A boarding welcome in Sens, Laroche-Migennes and Auxerre

For those who cannot postpone their travel dates, SNCF plans to add two trains on Saturday and two return trips on Monday, as well as “double or triple capacity trains to absorb the increased flow of travelers”. On Saturday, a TER Bourgogne Franche-Comté will depart every hour from Paris-Bercy station between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.: nine to Morvan and nine to Dijon and/or Lyon.

250 SNCF Voyageurs agents will be mobilized to direct travelers to the station, but also to welcome boarding passengers who already have a ticket. This will be the case at Paris Gare de Lyon, Paris Bercy, Sens, Laroche-Migennes, Auxerre and Dijon.

This Thursday, November 7 afternoon, some TERs are already full. On Saturday November 9, this is for example the case of the Laroche-Migennes – Dijon trains at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., or the TER Laroche-Migennes – Paris at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The SNCF expects a particularly large crowd on Monday, November 11, for weekend returns.
