Fougères Agglomération children's book fair, 2023 edition

The Fougères Agglomération Children’s Book Fairin Ille-et-Vilainewill take place at Espace Aumailrie and participating media libraries from November 14 to 17, 2024. Free entry.

It is in the company of an adorable family of rabbits that Agglomeration Ferns invites us to discover the programming of the new edition of its children's book fair. Organized by the city's media libraries in November, the event is the annual meeting of French-speaking children's authors and illustrators. The 2024 edition will welcome more than 30 guests, present for meetings, signings and workshops for children.

A place for early childhood

After a first day dedicated to schools, the doors of the Aumailrie space will open again on Friday November 15 for a day dedicated to early childhood. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., upon registration from November 7, children aged 0 to 3 will be able to enjoy free readings and songs, while in the afternoon the public is invited to visit the exhibitions.

Among them, The Child and the sea by the Marguerette editionsvisible at Media library of Saint-Marc-le-Grand until November 16. It is a dive into their literary and creative universe in this lovely collection of children's books through the illustrations of Marie Le Cluziat et Jeanne Gauthier. Marguerette editions also offer The making of an album illustrated to the Antrain-Val Couesnon Media Library until November 16, a proposal in which the public will go behind the scenes of the creation of illustrated albums for children.

The cabin competition is to be discovered on November 15, 16 and 17 at theAumailrie space. The exhibition makes it into the album The Village of Cabins by Camille Garoche and her multiple creative universes. It will certainly make you want to build your own!

Workshops and activities from 3 years old

Saturday, November 16, the day begins at 10 a.m. with eleven meeting workshops led by authors and illustrators invited to participating media libraries. Access is free and reservations are made at the media libraries.

Around ten workshops, free and reserved for children, are also planned at the Espace Aumailrie. You are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the workshop. “All at the park” with Kroc Saturday 16, at 10 a.m. Children, between 3 and 8 years old, will make their characters out of cut-out paper and place them in a park setting. At 2:30 p.m., the “Monsters and Chinese shadows” workshopAmandine Piu aptly named, children aged 8 to 11 are invited to create their shadow puppet monster using pencils, black paper and scissors. At 3:30 p.m., for children aged 10 and over, “Move your body” with Jessie Magana is a writing workshop to learn about literature and discover its potential.

Sunday 17, six workshops are scheduled, including “Quel temps de chien” with Lili the whaleat 10:30 a.m. for children between 3 and 6 years old, to restore silky and tousled fur to Kiki who was caught in the rain (this is due to circumstances in ) and “Little bits of monsters” in the company of Fanny Pageaud. In this workshop, illustration invites you to use your imagination to exorcise your fear of the dark and the monsters hiding under the bed by sticking them on paper (3:30 p.m., for children aged 4 to 8)

Various activities will punctuate the Show: drawing competitions, giant games, makeup, digital workshops, continuous creative workshops, etc. The children won't know where to turn.

Amidst the excitement of activities and workshops, it’s time for shows!

The concert book The Mystery of Bigoulet by the Marmouzic company (Saturday 16/11 at 4 p.m. and Sunday 17/11, 10:30 a.m., Espace Aumailrie, from 3 years old) will take young and old on a fabulous epic. What a horror! It all begins in a strange library lit by a soft light. Suddenly, images come to life and music is born… and the story…: “ One night, while putting on her nightgown, Mine heard a small noise. It was a small noise, nothing at all. But when her head emerged from her shirt, she was no longer in her room. She was in a country she didn't know and which was empty, white and flat… “. According to the album Listening to their doorstwo musicians and an actress set off in search of Monsieur Bigoulet and the story that ended, which put an end to all the stories in the world.

The show We will go through storms par Anne-Laure Bondoux (reading-singing) and Sean Seago (music, guitar and singing) is a dive into the history of the Balaguère family. The little stories that have shaped the members of this family over four generations mingle with the great events of the century in an auditory journey. (Sunday November 17, 2:30 p.m., Aumailrie space, from 12 years old)

A final festivity, and not the least, will close the Show with light and delicacies: the snack and boom, Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., will be the last opportunity to waddle to the rhythm of the music of DJ Benco. On the trail, sailors!
