The SSP is mobilizing to maintain Coup d’Pouce in Estavayer

The Public Services Union (SSP) opposes the announced closure of the Coup d'Pouce store in Estavayer, regional site of the Emploi Solidarité Foundation active in professional reintegration. Four employees concerned mandated the SSP to defend their workplaces with the Canton. A meeting with their employer and State Councilor Olivier Curty, director of the economy, was requested.

The Public Employment Service, which contributes almost half to the financing of the Emploi Solidarité Foundation, confirmed at the beginning of September that it would no longer order reintegration places for the Estavayer site, thus closing the second-hand store. hand at the end of the year. The body justified this decision by a reduction in the number of job seekers.

The announcement has already caused a reaction in the Grand Council. Elected officials tabled a question to understand the reasons for these cuts and challenge the government on the need to maintain stable funding for reintegration programs.

For the SSP, the challenge is twofold: preserving threatened jobs and guaranteeing support for the reintegration of unemployed people in the Broye region. In the absence of a satisfactory response, the union could consider additional actions to defend workers' rights and the social mission of this structure.
