Limited, until now, to a few family canteens, the gastronomy of eastern Europe is diversifying in the capital. Tour of these cuisines to discover.

The most pacifist: Pirojki Bar Restaurant

The place. His microprocessor specializing in pirojkis (small Russian stuffed breads), opened near the main boulevards just after the start of the war in Ukraine, received a lot of media attention. And for good reason, Elena Biktimirova, the young chef and owner, pays homage to the cuisine of her Russian and Ukrainian grandmothers, in the form of a pacifist manifesto, highlighted by frescoes decorated with doves. This first address was followed by a small restaurant a stone's throw away, between the bistro and the café, where vodka flows freely in the evening.

The plate. If the menu has recently expanded to Scandinavia, including a section of smorrebrods, you can still find fur herring (with beetroot, potato, eggs and mayo), Olivier salad (Russian salad with chicken), beef Stroganoff… As well as borscht – soup…
