a region full of history between France and Belgium

Imagine soaring above the ground, flying over forests, vineyards and even crossing a border at a height of 10 meters by cable car: “Behind us is France and there is the Belgian side. We straddle two territories”explains a hiker. The crossing lasts around ten minutes. French hikers take the opportunity to rest their legs and admire the view. Arriving in Belgium, the walkers are hardly disoriented because Flanders straddles the two countries.

Around the hikers, the same hilly landscapes but above all the same emblems. A windmill mounted on a pivot like in France, with the only difference that here, the wings still turn. Belgian Flanders takes care of its mills. Belgium trains around fifty millers each year, whereas in France, the know-how disappears. On both sides of the border, mills and a common history dating back to the Middle Ages.
