“Complex and delicate” consultations

A system which will be generalized throughout the territory from 2025. For good reason, the difference in access to gynecological care is still too great for these women. “The gynecological consultation is more complex and delicate for them, notes Charlotte Parmentier-Lecocq. It first requires the training of professionals, which is what we are working on, in particular by supporting the development of skills of midwives. »

What Handigynéco is supposed to help with. “It is extremely important for the health of these women, but also to talk about their sexual and emotional life, which is still a taboo, and to work on the prevention of sexual violence of which they are particularly victims. » Four out of five women with disabilities have been or are victims of sexual violence, according to the minister.
