The professor went for a walk with his dog in a forest in Blies-Ébersing, in Moselle, last Sunday, according to information fromActu.fr. Without having given any news since, the police were alerted and beats were then organized in the surrounding area.
The day after this disappearance, this Monday, the professor's body was finally found, lifeless, in the forest. According to the Sarreguemines public prosecutor's office, the hypothesis of suicide is favored.
Students' tributes in memory of their teacher who died in the forest
The victim taught history and geography at the Jean-de-Pange high school in Sarreguemines. After the announcement of his death, many ex-students wanted to pay him a last tribute on their social networks. A former student, who took the teacher's classes in the 2000s, remembers a “simple” and “very educational” teacher. For the ex-high school student, “he tried to help” the youngest, while “even the disruptive students kept to themselves in his class”.
“Beyond his role as a teacher, he embodied deep human values, which we rarely encounter,” says another former student. The senator from Moselle, Michaël Weber, who had already had the opportunity to meet the professor, also wanted to pay tribute to him on his social networks.
