It is in fact planned that the rapist will serve his sentence in a penitentiary establishment in Drôme. For this reason, he was given a few extra days to be able to organize his trip to mainland France. Since his arrest, the man has actually never been imprisoned.
He benefited from the judicial control regime and was not in pre-trial detention, note our colleagues. On the evening of the incident, the accused had taken drugs. Seven years in prison had been requested by the public prosecutor, who had also requested that a committal warrant be issued at the end of the trial.
