A new tragedy occurred early this Thursday afternoon in the Square Papaye residential area, in Mamoudzou. A young man died from his injuries following a violent attack. Another suffered a head injury.
Rivalries between gangs have claimed new victims. A young man in his twenties died after receiving a stab wound to the heart, according to our information. His friend, injured in the head, was taken care of by emergency services. His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy according to the firefighters who intervened on the scene. The events took place this afternoon in the heart of Mamoudzou, in the Square Papaye residential area, not far from Bamana high school.
According to initial testimonies, it was a settling of scores between rival gangs. The victim, accompanied by his friends, allegedly came to fight with certain high school students in front of the establishment.
The head of the establishment has decided to stagger the departures of students as a safety measure. The rector, Jacques Mikulovic made the trip to Younoussa Bamana high school. The prosecution also went to the scene of the tragedy.
Thanks to the drone deployment, four individuals have already been arrested by the police, according to our information.
